NITI Aayog is expected to introduce the State Energy Efficiency Scorecard, which will rank states based on energy efficiency. The ranking is likely to be in place by mid-2017. NITI Aayog has reportedly roped in energy efficiency enabling organisation the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy for the annual exercise. The move aims to help India achieve its international commitment of lowering energy consumption.
