Wärtsilä has been awarded a contract to supply three Wärtsilä 34SG engines for a 30 MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant in China. The equipment will be supplied to CGGC UN Power, a subsidiary of the China Gezhouba Group Cooperation. It will reportedly be the first gas-fired, medium-speed engine power plant in China and is scheduled to become fully operational in 2018. Electricity generated from the project will be fed to the national grid.
