Pakistan’s Ministry of Water and Power has commenced operations at the 220 kV Chishtian grid station near Bahawalnagar. Work on the substation and the 88 km long transmission line has been carried out by National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited at a cost of PKR 2.63 billion. The substation will improve power supply in Chishtian, Bahawalnagar, Hasilpur, Noor Sar, Haroonabad, Dhahranwala and Fortabbas. Also, the grid station will provide power to six 132 kV grid stations of the Multan Electric Power Company for subsequent distribution to feeders.
