NIWE invites EoI for 1,000 MW offshore wind project

The National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has invited expressions of interest for the first offshore wind energy project in the country. The proposed 1,000 MW project would be set up in the Gulf of Khambhat, off the coast of Gujarat. This step is in line with the central government’s target of developing 5 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2022.
